It’s October, but it doesn’t feel like October. Anyone else experiencing that where you are or is that just me?

Where’s the chilly weather and fall foliage?

As much as I’m hoping to be able to see some foliage soon, I recognize what a blessing it is that I’m not located in an area that is currently recovering from a storm or earthquake. I am thankful for shelter and to have a place to come home each day.

I have not done a “currently” post in a while, primarily because I feel like there isn’t really a whole lot going on in my world right now. But as I mentioned in a previous post where I started separating my links and things that I’ve been loving from my currently post, this “currently” post is going to look a bit different.

Remember several years ago when those little quiz questionnaires were the big thing? People would copy and paste them on their MySpace page, Live Journal or Xanga and answer the questions? Well, I thought it’d be cool to turn “currently” posts into Q&As where everything I answer is more of a Q&A and less of me rambling – something I do very well.

While I am going to be grabbing most of the questions from either online or my own creation, you can submit questions to me if you would like and I’ll include them in future posts. I’m excited, but also nervous because I don’t know if anyone is going to really ask me anything, but I like the idea of creating a space where any questions asked can be addressed.

Let’s get to October’s edition, shall we?

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE THIS MONTH?

I haven’t been much into movies, but I’ve been on a huge documentary kick as usual. One we watched was talking about Dr. Gosnell from Philadelphia. I hesitate even referring to him as a doctor because what he did to those women was absolutely horrible. Regardless of your view on the topic of abortion, it’s harrowing and horrible what these women went through and how Dr. Gosnell used them at a point in their life when they were most vulnerable and the way he treated them.

WHAT PODCASTS HAVE YOU BEEN LISTENING TO?

I’m still listening to Up and Vanished, but recently my husband and I started listening to this podcast called The Dream. It talks about pyramid scheme companies and companies that promise easy money to see if their scams. We just started, but I think the podcast is only a few episodes in, so it’s pretty new!

WHAT ARE SOME FALL-BUCKET LIST ITEMS, YOU’VE DONE?

We finally visited a pumpkin patch! I’ve been wanting to for a little minute, now. I was bummed that we didn’t actually get to pick up pumpkins from there since there were none, but it was cool getting to go up there.

We also are going on the Wilmington Train, which is a steam engine train that takes you through the fall foliage. I’m excited to go and to share our experience on both blogs!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE POST THAT YOU’VE WRITTEN, RECENTLY?

Definitely, this one. It’s been my personal bucket-list for this fall season. Also, the photographs I took during the peak of fall foliage are giving me so many feels. I love this time of year.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE WRITER?

It’s a toss up between T.S Elliot and F.Scott Fitzgerald. I was a HUGE Fitzgerald fan in high school and college. My now husband gave me an anthology of some of his most popular works because I liked his writing a lot. I also really like George Orwell.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE NOVELS?

1984 and Animal Farm – hands down. I love dystopian novels with lots of symbolism and both of these books are full of them.

WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR BLOG LAYOUT?

I talk some about this here, but it is primarily because I felt that I needed a change. I’ve been debating changing my name, logo, and layout for a little while now, but never felt it was the right time. I wanted to add more vibrant colors to my layout and so I decided to do a bit of a rebrand with the exception of the name and logo. I may keep my name after all, but in the process of considering a new logo.

WHAT IS A COFFEE DRINK THAT YOU’VE BEEN LOVING, LATELY?

I have been a big fan of iced maple-flavored items, lately of all varieties. What’s been yours? I’d love some new fall drinks to try or indulge in!

WHAT’S SOMETHING COMING SOON THAT YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT?

Traveling and then hopefully booking a nice summer vacation. My husband and I haven’t really gone on a trip with just us for almost a year, so we’re hoping to go on vacation next summer somewhere and spend a weekend i a nearby town for our anniversary. We shall see.

IF YOU WEREN’T IN THE FIELD YOU’RE IN NOW, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’D BE DOING?

Depending on the day, I go back and forth between photography, law and politics. Very random, I know, but my interests can be all over the place sometimes. However, I could definitely see myself going into education policy or law if I weren’t doing what I do, now. Even if in law, I’d probably still be advocating for education and would make that my focus of study.

I am honestly really passionate about education, though, so it’s hard to imagine much else.

WHY DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?

I’m not sure if I answered this on this blog before, but it’s a question I can go on and on about because there’s a lot of reasons why. But in short, I believe in God because I have seen and experienced in my own life the grace and goodness of God. I have seen Him at work in my own life.

What about you, friend? What’s currently going on in your world? I’d love to know your answer to one or more of these questions!
