WHO HAS BEEN TAKING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS, LATELY?
When I am in front of the camera, my husband is usually the one behind it. It’s not something that he particularly enjoys, I’m sure, but I appreciate his willingness to support me and my passions! He’s truly the best.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TWITTER POST, RIGHT NOW?
Definitely this one. This was from October, but it’s still one of my favorites. I love Twitter, honestly.
WHAT’S FRUSTRATING YOU THE MOST RIGHT NOW?
My mortgage company. It’s taking everything in me to not write a full on post, blasting what a nightmare it’s been with them, but I am trying to keep it professional at the moment. Let’s just say, their mistakes are messing with my life right now and I am praying and believing that everything will get fixed.
WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING?
I have ideas planned for the month of January! Now, I am just working on shooting photography for it and trying to get the content all together. I also have some posts going live in December, that I hope you all enjoy! There’s one that I’m really excited about that’s a guide, but isn’t your typical gift guide and has a little something for everyone!
WHAT’S THE FUNNIEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU, RECENTLY?
Well, I fell down the steps for the first time in our new home since we moved in. Ironically, it happened after I told my husband to “be careful” because he was carrying the Thanksgiving and fall decor down the steps to put away in storage in the basement. Not even a minute after I slipped on the carpeted steps and the only thing keeping me from taking him down with me like I was a bowling ball going towards some pins was the fact that I slammed my hands on the wall next to me.
We had a good laugh, but sometimes I dislike being so clumsy, haha.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG TO WORKOUT TO, RIGHT NOW?
This one for sure!
ARE YOU GOING TO WRITE MORE POSTS ABOUT YOUR FAITH OR THAT ARE FAITH-BASED?
Yes, actually! My faith is important to me, but I want to be led in what I share and not just share for the sake of getting content up. You’ll find me speaking a lot more about my struggles, faith, and more in my newsletter though since I tend to be a bit more open on there about those things than I am on this space.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE THING TO SNACK ON, LATELY?
Crackers and cream cheese, believe it or not – especially the salmon flavored ones. I don’t know why but it reminds me a lot of eating a toasted bagel with lox and capers.
WHAT BLOGS HAVE YOU BEEN READING A LOT?
I have so many! I know a few I have been frequenting are as follows:
I love Summer’s blog because it has the right mix of blog-related posts and lifestyle shares. I trust her blog advice because I know she’s very ethical in her blog practices. She’s also super sweet and doesn’t compromise her content for a quick buck, which I appreciate!
I LOVE Megan’s blog and her writing. It’s so raw and well-written that it’s almost poetic. She’s a wonderful person with a big heart and it shows through her willingness to share her heart on her blog.
Covering the Bases is one of my favorite blogs that I’ve discovered recently. I love her style and her outfit posts!
Carly’s outfits are always on point, so I frequently visit hers for inspiration for what to wear to formal events, because I rarely wear dresses. She always has good suggestions!
The Prepford Wife, who seems like the absolute coolest person to be around and I love her content! She has beautiful taste in clothing and home decor.
HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO AFFORD TO TRAVEL?
Honestly, my husband and I don’t make a ton of money, but with what we make, we try to plan out things with enough wiggle room that we can pay in increments. That and sometimes we just save, wait, and get rooms that are reasonably priced. For example, there’s a room I wanted to stay in because it’s so gorgeous and photogenic, but it was over $700 a night…A NIGHT. Needless to say, we didn’t book that space and booked another that will allow us to spend on experiences instead.
Sure it would have been nice to be able to stay in a suite like that, but we both agreed we’d rather spend on experiences than paying THAT much for a suite we won’t even be spending that much time in. Similarly, we haven’t really gone anywhere outside of the US yet and less than a 12 hour drive away, so it’s a little more affordable.
It’s also just us right now, but I’m sure we won’t be traveling as much if it’s meant for us to have kids.
WHY DON’T YOU SHARE ANY PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOUR NEPHEW OR FAMILY ASIDE FROM YOUR HUSBAND ON HERE ANYMORE?
Honestly, I recently made the decision to stop sharing super personal photographs or posts on here. I even recently archived some photographs I posted up of my baby cousin because people are weird and I was reminded that by being a public account, there’s a likelihood that some unsavory individuals are viewing it to.
Part of the reason for that is because there are some people out there who do sick things and while I have a threshold for a lot of things, I cannot take someone potentially saying something smart about my nephew, my brother, sisters, cousins, parents, or other family members. I am very defensive over my family. Now, I primarily post photographs of myself, objects, and places we’ve traveled but every now and then I may throw a photograph of a family member if it’s relevant to the post. For example, I usually on share photographs of my husband because it’s relevant to what I post.
Maybe one day I’ll change my position on this, but I don’t feel comfortable sharing those photographs anymore – especially of my nephew. Just take my word for it though – he’s absolutely adorable and the cutest baby you’d ever see.
Also, I don’t judge anyone that does! In fact, I commend your thick skin and ability to handle that! I just believe that as of right now, I personally do not feel comfortable sharing those things.
