As I have previously alluded to on this blog in a previous post, I’ve been desiring to change my style lately. I have been rearranging my daily wardrobe to fit a more prepster-style that I’ve fallen in love with. For me, the struggle has always been finding affordable items that don’t break the bank. I love the look, but can’t always afford Vineyard Vines and Lily Pulitzer. I’ve seriously seen items online from online boutiques that have shirts for $40. Sometimes, I think that the price is worth it because of the quality of the items you get, but most times it just feels excessive.

It also doesn’t help that I’m a teacher and we don’t make enough to be able to afford to spend $40 plus dollars on something like a shirt when we have to pay back our college loans.

This is why I’ve been on the hunt for items that allow me to wear the preppy clothes I love on a budget. This is also why I’m going to share the stores I’ve found with you in today’s blog post.

Believe it or not, there’s some really good items on Amazon for preppy clothing. It really just depends on how you search it. However, I would recommend looking at the reviews of the items before you buy, however. I usually only purchase items that have a lot of reviews that aren’t sponsored, photographs of the object from actual users, and mostly if not all positive reviews. I will stress that it is hard to find items that are good quality, but they do exist on Amazon! You just have to search for it!

I LOVE Old Navy and always have. It’s one of my favorite places to shop for everything from jeans to infinity scarves. It’s also a great place to find affordable items that are considered preppy. While Old Navy has pretty affordable items to begin with, the best times to get the most for your buck is when you go on a sale day. I would recommend signing up for the email list or going around the times of major holidays, so you can get awesome deals. For example, when I went Christmas shopping, I found a vest that I’ve been looking to purchase for quite a while and only paid $20 for it!

Gap, which is like a sister store to Old Navy, also has a great selection of items that are affordable. Personally, Gap can be a bit pricey for me some days, but there are some days when there are sales and you can find some items for a pretty nice price!

Marley Lily is one of my favorite places to go to for monogrammed items. I love their sherpa pullovers and monogrammed loafers, but they have everything from vests to jackets to bags!

There’s quite a few items in Thred Up that are sitting in my cart, currently because I love cheap thrills (items). Similarly to a thrift store, people both buy and sell items on this site. While it can be a bit difficult to find because it’s not like you can search up, “preppy clothing” and get a smorgasbord of hunter boots. However, they definitely have items on there that you can style to fit your desired preppy look.

What are some of your favorite places to shop? Are you someone who is interested in preppy fashion? What’s your favorite place to shop for preppy clothing?
