It’s unbelievable that we’re already almost halfway through to the end of the year. June will be here before we know it and we’ll be batting away bees and spraying on mosquito repellant.
As with the previous time I’ve checked in, things have been very busy and so I have not been consistently sharing on Instagram – like at all. I haven’t had the urge to create content for it and I’ve been too busy to really even post. There’s been a surge of good and discouraging news as well, so that’s sort of stunted my creativity as well.
I am hoping that this month and the next months to come are much better, however, and that I’ll be able to get back to a more consistent posting schedule since I do enjoy interacting with you all there!
Old Navy has been killing it with the sales, recently! I saw a few of their gingham items, a print that I’ve been loving a lot recently, and so I treated myself to a couple of items from there. I got an umbrella, which I needed ever since one of those windy rain storms caused my umbrella to go inside out.
My husband and I booked our summer vacation for this year! We’re hoping to visit some new places we haven’t been before in the states and also see some familiar spots that we liked. I’m excited to have a vacation book because now I have something else to look forward to this summer other than longer sunlight! I am hoping that we’re able to really relax, connect and enjoy each other’s company whilst being mindful of the budget we have because Lord knows how easy it is to rake up the cash while you’re on vacation.
This might be a bit TMI, but I cannot speak highly enough about this product. While I don’t like using public restrooms much because the low-key germaphobe in me comes out full force in bathrooms they feel like a cesspool of them, when I do, I like to spray a bit of this to freshen up the bathroom. I’ve walked into the bathroom after someone let some serious things in there and the spray really helps to freshen everything. It is also very helpful for when you need to use the restroom, because you can spray it into the toilet before use and it holds the scent of the Poopouri.
My Chinoiserie Jars:
Remember when I said how I loved the print and wanted to snag some of my own, but they’re often too expensive? Well, I’m happy to announce that I found TWO jars for under $30. Yes, TWO jars that usually go for $70 and up for more than half the price total and it hasn’t fallen apart or collapsed. One is technically a planter, but it was only $12!
I purchased them from Ross after going on a whim during a couple weekends ago. I am really excited to plant something in my chinoiserie planter and to add some cookies to the ginger jar I have.
Twitter and Blog Updates:
As previously mentioned, I have not been active at all when it comes to actively sharing on the blog. A large number of these posts were planned months in advance and in some ways I am thankful for it because I’ve been way too busy to really sit down and brainstorm new content. Now that things are calming down a little bit, I am working towards getting out some new, fresh content and hopefully I will be sharing a special project soon that I have been working on with you all!
Weight Loss: If I’m honest, I don’t know if I feel any different. Some items are fitting a bit loser, but I think the skeptic in me kicks in and because it isn’t drastic, I am not as quick to say whether I’ve actually made progress. I will say that I think I am developing a healthier view of food and learning more about balance and discipline, which I consider a big win!
Blog Growth: I deleted a Pin that has given me the most interactions because the photo that linked to my blog wasn’t mine. It was one that I used and pinned YEARS ago, but it included a photograph I got from Google. As much as it was nice that this pin had so many views (like over 6k which is a lot for me), I felt it was important to be honest and remove the photograph because it did not belong to me. It’s also not a good idea to get photographs from Google to use for posts because you don’t know whether those photographs were uploaded with the consent of the photographer or just cached images from sites. If you’re looking for places to get stock photographs, I have a few recommendations that I will be sharing in a later post, but I digress.
I don’t know if this would be considered “blog growth” in numbers, but I consider it a sign that I am finally parting with some old content of mine in hopes of making way for a space that’s mostly, if not all my own photographic content so yay!
Photos from My Phone
I thought it would be fun to start including photographs that I have snapped throughout the last couple of weeks in my posts, since I often snap photographs that I don’t share online just because they’re super random.
What have you been up to?
