It’s Friday (in my Aaliyah voice).
If I’m being honest, there wasn’t a whole lot of blog-related things happening this week, but I have been focused a lot more on working on my SEO. I think for so long I’ve been inconsistent with choosing the right keywords and working on updating and improving some of the content that get the most organic views that now I really want to get better at that.
Personally, I did have some family members over which was really nice! It’s always nice spending time with them and getting to see my nephew, who is seriously the cutest. I know I say that a lot, but there’s not enough words to describe what a bundle of joy he is!
I am going to have a pretty busy weekend – particularly related to church activities because I have a meeting right after church as well as to help put our Mother’s Day flowers together on Saturday. I am excited to spend Mother’s Day with family, however though and bummed that I won’t be able to see my ummanim.
I have a post in the drafts that I’m excited to share featuring some of my favorite statement earrings because I have been breaking those out a lot more, recently. Part of it is because I feel that I’ve stuck to my pearl studs for too long, but also because I think statement earrings add a nice pop of something special. I can’t wait to share that post with you in the upcoming weeks!
This Phone Case I Ordered:
This phone case arrived and once it did I could not wait to update my phone case from the broken, clear case that once was to one that actually fits. I’ll be sharing a post soon about my experience ordering from them and what I think of the case, which is easily my favorite phone case I’ve ever had for a lot of reasons, but two of them being because it’s blue and it’s gingham. I also should note that it’s not sponsored, but I just really think this case is so cute. Also, the story behind why I ordered the case is definitely an interesting one to tell.
My First Time Hosting Family:
I was a bit nervous about it because I knew that Han wouldn’t be there to help me, but my mom dropped by a bit early and made the bacon as well as brought some of the items I forgot to buy. I really enjoyed spending time with family and I think maybe it’s something I’ll want to do more in the future – hopefully next time with my husband included as well since he was missed! Here’s a photo I took during the preparation.
Anyone else watch YouTube videos while they cook or just me?
The Royal Baby
It’s no secret that Meghan Markle is one of my style inspirations and I may or may not be fascinated as a whole by the royal family. I’ve been following a few accounts on the royal family and on Meghan’s fashion specifically and the news came out that the baby was born this week! Did you predict a boy or a girl?
I didn’t make a predication, but I am SUPER excited the baby is here as if they were my own family member. Harry looked so happy and I respect their decision for her to skip the announcement in the front of the hospital. I mean, who would want to be photographed after they’ve given birth? I never really understood that, but I am also not British so I am probably not at liberty to really have an opinion about it since it seems to be something they’ve been doing for a while.
Anyone else feel super excited about all of this and happy for them?
The Met Gala
Every year for the past couple of years, I’ve scanned Twitter during the Met Gala to get a look at the attendees and what they decide to wear. While some of them miss the theme almost every year, there are some guests who really take the theme seriously and try to follow it to the best of their ability. I have a few favorite looks from the night, but I think I am still trying to figure out exactly what “camp” is myself, so I’m refraining from speaking too much on it. What’s your favorite look from the night?
