Can you believe that it’s almost June?
Soon I’ll be celebrating my birthday, my baby cousin’s birthday, my mom’s birthday, father’s day and a lot of other things happening this summer. I am so excited because that means that we’re also that much closer to our vacation!
In preparation for the summer, I’ve been working on trying to clean out my closet of things I can no longer fit and no longer wear with items that fit my current shape and that I feel good in.
It seems like some of you liked my previous mood board posts sharing some of the items, silhouettes and styles that I’d love to wear this summer. As a result, I thought it would be fun to do another post sharing some of the things and outfits that are inspiring me and will be inspiring my outfits all summer!
As I’ve mentioned before on this blog, I love neutral colors and tend to stick to a lot of pastel, navy, hues of blue and neutral colors that tend to go well with a lot of things. As much as I have an appreciation for bright colors, I don’t really like wearing them and find that they can be a little bit too loud for my personality if I wear too much of them at once. I love the way they look on other people, though!
This summer, I’ve been inspired by the colors I’ve listed above, but I have been really interested in adding pops of color here in there. I have a floral skirt that I don’t think I have ever worn, but I’m more open to wearing it this summer and muting it down with a jean jacket and a white shirt or something. I’m also planning on wearing a lot of gingham, haha.
My job’s attire is pretty relaxed as long as it’s appropriate, so at work I can wear jeans, white pants or dressier pants if I’d like to. At work I like wearing more dressier tops on the top and pairing them with jeans and a flat when it’s nice and not raining. This summer I’m implementing more pastel and mixing and matching more between pants, jeans, everyday heels and flats.
Swimwear – Poolside at the Beach
As with my regular attire, I tend to go for darker swimsuits, but I did manage to find a gingham red swimsuit that I’m thinking about trying to wear for some beach trips. It’s definitely a swimsuit I wouldn’t normally go for, but it was too cute to pass up. It’s for sure out of my comfort zone though.
Other than that, I stuck a lot to pretty solid colors and even own a brown swimsuit which is funny considering that I don’t like wearing brown. This summer I’m keeping it neutral with little pops of colors here and there.
A Pop of Color
As mentioned above, I’ve been really inspired lately by implementing some brighter colors into my wardrobe. While I love my neutrals and plan on keeping it that way for now, I love the idea of wearing pops of colors to brighten it up a bit for the spring.
