Something you might know if you have been reading my blog for a little while is that I am not someone who wears a lot of colorful things. I have an appreciation for bright colors and I love them, but when it comes to wearing them, I am not as excited about doing so. I typically stick to darker hues, blue, neutral and pastel colors when it comes to my wardrobe.
As mentioned in a previous post, it has a lot to do with my personality, but it also has to do with what I feel most comfortable and confident in. As beautiful as the colors are, for some reason wearing bright-colored clothes sometimes makes me feel quite the opposite.
However, sometimes when it’s almost summer, I get the urge to add a little more color in my wardrobe in a way that still feels comfortable and very me. When that happens, I usually save my brighter colors for pops of colors in things like my accessories. For today’s post, I thought it would be fun to share an outfit I wore recently and some of my favorite bright-colored accessories for when I like to give a little pop of color to my otherwise neutral wardrobe.
The earrings and the top that I’m wearing in this post are both items I purchased years ago. These are also items I frequently wear together and probably my favorite pair of earrings to wear when I want to add a pop of something colorful. When paired with this white, off the shoulder top I purchased, I feel like I’m still staying true to my neutral roots while also inviting in some of the brighter colors of the warmer months into my wardrobe.
The bracelet I am wearing is a gift for my birthday, however from my brother and my sister-in-law, which I love! It has one of my favorite colors in it and really goes well with just about anything!
Since my pop of color for this outfit was primarily in my accessories, I decided to go neutral for my shoes. While I think this outfit would look really cute with more colorful flats, I like the idea of pairing it with a neutral color. Plus to be honest, it was date night and I wanted to wear a pair of shoes that were comfortable for walking and these shoes fit the bill. I honestly cannot speak highly enough about how comfortable these heels are.
What are your favorite ways to add pops of color to your wardrobe?
